Just discovered an extremly
nice
site for radio. You can choose from 1000s of
real/virtual "stations".
On 5. Januar 2006 an
interesting article about Fiji appeared in the "Neue
Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ").
read it (in German). I am proud that my friends from the
Lawaki Beach House got an excellent review. A pity
that the writer did not visit the
Yanuca Island Resort of my friend Taito. But then
again - there are so many beautiful places in Fiji.
People wanting to know more
about the indenture system in Fiji, check
Fijigirmit.org, a website I maintain until
now. Excellent background information is also available
at
Fijian Studies.
Good other Fiji news choices are:
Fijilive
Fiji
Times
Fiji
Sun
my favourite monthly magazine
Island Business (although the publisher, Robert
Keith-Reid - probably the best journalist in Fiji - has
not even heard of Rudolf Augstein and my German
favourite, "Der
Spiegel")

Ni Sa Bula, Welcome & Grüezi
It was after the
civilian coup in
May 2000 (read some good comments about this putsch
here), when I thought it maybe prudent for me to store
important personal documents on a website. My house in Suva (Fiji) is a
small wooden
building in Samabula - coup supporters could easily have burnt it to the
ground (thanks to the good Lord it did not eventuate).
German-speaking visitors may
want to have a look at my
stories about Fiji (I had the privilege to experience
the second coup, too).
And for those from overseas that call me in the
middle of the night:
here you can check out the current time in Zurich.
