Qarase on taxpayer funded campaign trip

The regime's Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has left on a 10-day tax-payer funded trip to the Lau Group of Islands.
Qarase has announced his decision to contest for the Lau Fijian Provincial Council parliamentary seat.

The 10-day trip includes a tour of various islands in the Lau group. The fully tax-payer funded campaign entrouge includes civil servants, full security, allowances for Qarase and the civil servants, a government vessel and the seamen costs and allowances, and government vehicles shipped to the islands. It is also expected that Qarase will be donating pubic funds to various island groups.

Qarase has been using taxpayer funds for many months trying to launch his political party. His people have gone around the country numerous times trying to promote Qarase's Blueprint, which Qarase is now peddling as his manifesto. Qarase has also been utilising public funds to provide hefty donations to areas where he is building his votebanks.
